Overview:

This worksheet introduces a strategy to solve 3x multiplication facts by using 2x facts. Designed for students in years 3 and 4.

Learning Objectives:

Learn to use 2x facts to solve 3x multiplication facts.

How the Activity Works:

Students use the strategy of calculating the 2x multiplication fact and then adding one more group of the same number to solve 3x problems. For example, to solve 6x3, students first calculate double 6 (which is 12), then add another group of 6 to get 18. This method helps students solve 3x multiplication facts more efficiently by using a known multiplication fact as a foundation.
