Overview:

Students write 2-digit numbers based on their MAB representations and create matching equations. Designed for students in year 1 and year 2.

Learning Objectives:

Recognise and interpret 2-digit numbers represented with MAB blocks.
Write numbers in standard form based on their place value components.
Create partitioning equations that match given representations.

How the Activity Works:

Students examine MAB block representations of 2-digit numbers and determine the corresponding number. They then write the number in digits and create a partitioning equation to show its place value components (e.g., 30 + 5 = 35). This activity reinforces place value understanding and numerical representation skills.
