Available only to premium members
EASYTEACHING.NET

Overview:

Students identify whether each shape has undergone a half turn or a quarter turn, as well as the direction of the turn (clockwise or anti-clockwise). Designed for students in year 3 and year 4.

Learning Objectives:

  • Understand the concept of half turns and quarter turns.
  • Recognise and describe the direction of rotation (clockwise or anti-clockwise).
  • Develop spatial awareness and visualisation skills through rotation activities.

How the Activity Works:

The worksheet presents various shapes that have been rotated. Students are asked to identify whether the turn is a half turn or a quarter turn, and to specify whether the rotation was clockwise or anti-clockwise. This activity reinforces the understanding of basic rotational concepts while encouraging students to think critically about how shapes move in space.
