Using Conjunctions

Overview: Students use conjunctions to join sentence pairs. It is designed for early and middle years students.

• Identify appropriate conjunctions to join ideas.
• Practise combining sentence pairs to improve fluency in writing.
• Develop skills in creating more complex sentence structures.

How the Activity Works:

Students are provided with pairs of simple sentences. They select a suitable conjunction from a list to join each pair, then rewrite the combined sentence. This activity helps build sentence variety and encourages the use of conjunctions to create coherent and engaging text.
