Statements are the most common type of sentence. Questions (interrogative sentences): ask for information. They end with a question mark (?). Commands (imperative sentence): used to give instruction. They usually end with a full stop (period) but can also end with an exclamation mark (!). Exclamations (exclamatory sentence): express strong emotion. They end with an exclamation mark (!).
