Overview:

Students use a length of string to compare the lengths of two lines. They lay the string against a ruler to measure and determine how much longer one line is than the other. This activity helps develop measurement and comparison skills.

Learning Objectives:

How the Activity Works:

Students are given pairs of lines to compare. They use a piece of string to measure the length of each line by laying the string against the ruler. After measuring both lines, students calculate the difference in length, working out how much longer one line is than the other. This hands-on activity strengthens their measurement and comparison skills, helping them to better understand the concept of length and the relationship between different units of measurement.
