Capacity: Labelled 200mL Increments

EASYTEACHING.NET

Overview:

Students read the scale on various jugs, each with a capacity of 1L, and record the volume of water in each jug. The scale is marked in 50mL increments. They will also colour in the water in each jug to match the measurement given. Designed for middle and upper primary students.

Learning Objectives:

  • Read and interpret the volume scale in 50mL increments on jugs with a 1L capacity.
  • Accurately record the volume of water in each jug.
  • Use visual representation (colouring in) to match the measurement on a jug.

How the Activity Works:

Students are presented with jugs that each have a capacity of 1L, with the scale marked in 50mL increments. They read the scale on each jug and record the volume of water in it. Additionally, students colour in the water level in each jug to match the given measurement. This activity helps students practise interpreting volume scales in 50mL increments and reinforces their understanding of volume in litres.
