Temperature Forecast: Brisbane

Overview:

Students read a 5-day weather forecast for the city of Brisbane and answer related questions. They also practise recording temperatures on thermometers. This activity helps students develop skills in interpreting weather forecasts and accurately representing temperatures. Designed for middle and upper primary students.

How the Activity Works:

Students examine a 5-day weather forecast for Brisbane and answer questions such as "What will the temperature be on Monday?" "Which day will be the coolest?" and "How much cooler will Thursday be than Monday?" In addition, students will record the provided temperatures on blank thermometers. This activity strengthens students' abilities to interpret weather data and enhances their understanding of temperature scales and representation.
