Blends & Digraphs

These digraph and blend worksheets provide students with practice creating and reading blends and digraphs. Digraphs are consonants that combine to create a single sound. For example: ‘ch’, ‘th’ & ‘sh’. Blends are consonants blend together, while still keeping their individual sounds. For example: ‘bl’, tr’ & ‘sc’.

These blend and digraph worksheets give students practice working with common letter combinations such as bl, cr, st, ch, sh, and th.

The collection is organised into targeted word sets, so students can focus on one blend or digraph at a time (for example br, cl, sp, or wr words), rather than jumping between too many patterns at once. This keeps the task simple and helps students notice the sound–letter connection.
